Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My minature schnauzer was bitten by another bigger dog..it puncture wound above the eye and under the jaw. He is on keflex. He has 1 pill left. Under jaw it's still swollen. Should we give it time or have him seen again?

If the jaw is still swollen it would be a good idea to have him seen again. It's possible he needs another course of antibiotics or the area needs to be drained and cleaned out to let it properly heal.
