How much should my 1-year-old Belgian Malinois weigh & what to feed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Belgian Malinois | Male | neutered | 1 year old | 53 lbs

What is the ideal bodyweight for my 1 year old Belgian malinois? And does the dog need protein carbs and fat like we need or is it enough to focus on feeding him enough protein?

Leo should be between 24.2 and 29 kg at a year of age, and he will be finished growing by 16 months of age. Dogs have different nutrition needs than humans, so you need to feed him a dog formulated food. I recommend a large breed food. Best of luck.
