My dog was attacked. Why does he growl when I give him his medicine?

Pet's info: Dog | Shar Pei | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 65 lbs

Me an my dog was attacked the other night by a dog an now when I go to give him medicine he gives me a look an growls a little bit then licks me afterwards I don't know if he is still scared or nervous but I need some info !

Poor guy. It is likely he is suffering from a bit of post traumatic stress and is likely still very sore from the bite wounds. He should gradually improve over the next few weeks. I am not sure what the condition of his wounds are but continue to monitor them for any excessive discharge or foul odors, which should prompt another vet visit if seen. Poor guy. Try to soothe him with warm compresses on the areas that may seem painful and offer him special treats through his healing. I hope that Gucci is able to make a full and speedy recovery!
