My cat's nose lump and swelling won't heal after Microsporum treatment.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed

Our cat has a large growing bubble like lump on and inside her right nostril with swelling to the rest of her nose. we brought her to the vet and they did tests and told us it was Microsporum canis. We were given itrafungol and have been giving it to her for about a month, But doesn’t seem to be doing any good. We have also given her antibiotics. The vet has just said it could take a few months. The vet seemed a bit dump founded with what it could be before saying it was microsporum canis.

I would recommend uploading a picture of Yui's nose for us to see. You can resubmit the question and upload up to 3 pictures. If it is not resolving then the next step would be a biopsy of the lesion. That would give us a definitive answer as to what is going on. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
