My tripaw kitten has a missing paw. Will he need a leg amputation?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 1lb

I recently found a tripaw kitten. He is missing his paw just below the bend of his leg. Through research I read that cats like this often need a feel leg amputation. Is this likely for him? Seems healthy and happy gets around well

Simba is so cute! Without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain if he needs a full leg amputation. Make an appointment with a local vet to see him about this issue, and they can advise you. Best of luck.
