My cockatiel's eye is half-closed and losing feathers. What's wrong?

Hi I have a cockateil bird I have seen he is loosing hair around the eye and the effected one eye is half closed what it could be can anyone please help me I am so worried I am actually from India kindly help what is that and what can be done

The eye does look a bit irritated, and Joy looks like he is just generally not feeling well. If he is losing feathers and can't keep the eye open, an injury to the eye or even an infection could be a possible cause. Mites can also sometimes take root around the eye and cause irritation and feather loss (you may also see scaling on their legs and feet as well). It would be best to bring Joy into your vet for an exam and for medication to treat the issue depending on the cause. Until you can get to your vet, keeping the eye clean and free of debris and keeping Joy in a warm hospital cage may help make him feel a bit more comfortable.
