My kitten fell and has a red dot on her lip. Is it an injury?

Hello. So my kitten fell really hard earlier from a far distance. She landed on her face. When I got home earlier, she didn’t have this red dot on her lip. After she fell, a few hours later this showed up. Could this be because she fell? Or could it God forbid be something else? Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 1lb

Hello. Hopefully, Delilah did not suffer any severe injuries such as a fracture of internal injuries. This looks like a blood blister, so just a bad bruise. As long as she seems to be doing well, no incoordination, eating, playing like a normal kitten then I would not be too concerned about this spot. Please look at her eyes. Make sure there are no unusual eye movements, like a quick back & forth one & both of her pupils are the same size. If there is anything unusual please have Delilah seen ASAP to make sure she does not have a concussion. But if all is well, then just watch this spot. If it is just a bruise, it should start to go away in a couple of days. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
