Why is my dog's eye red, big, and not glowing after an injury?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 7 days old | 20 lbs

Does my dogs eye look weird? A few days ago he ran into a glass window and today I’m noticing his eye is red and looks slightly bigger than the other. I took a picture of him and his eye does not glow like the other. Is this a problem or should I not be worried.

I can see that the sclera (white part of the eye) does look a little red in your last picture. This could be from trauma but can also be seen with conjunctivitis or even a corneal ulcer. Given Mitzer's breed I would recommend seeing a vet to make sure the cornea does not appear affected. They can also look at the lens and the back of the eye to make sure there is nothing abnormal that would cause a difference in the reflection from the back of the eye.
