My husky cries and howls when alone. Calming treats aren't helping.

Question

Hello, we have a husky and he is crying and howling when we are not at home . We give all natural calming treats for him and he gets plenty of exercise before we leave . We don’t make a big deal out of it when we are leaving or coming home. Please kindly advise. Thank you. Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | neutered | 7 years and 11 months old | 60 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! That kind of behavior is part of the usual behavior of a husky. You can perhaps help with anti-anxiety medications such as Trazodone which can be used on an as needed basis. Calming treats are not particularly helpful so I am not surprised that you have not noticed a difference with those. I would encourage you to check in with your veterinarian to see if they would be able to prescribe something like that for you. Best of luck!
