My cat is hissing and holding tail down after coming inside. Why?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 6 months and 3 days old

Dear Sir / Madam I let my cat go out daily usually I need to reach him to back him in but today he back alone. I didnt notice nothing unusual since few hours ago I saw when he turn in bed he push his buttom part up stay like that for few seconds and then put it down on the site he want to turn. I thought it's just uncomfortable position but I saw to do that again and when I reached him and touch his back and tail he is hussing me ( never did that before) . He refuse treats,and keep tail down

Hello. My guess is Chips probably got into a fight with another cat & was bitten in the area around the base of his tail. This is incredibly painful & he needs to be treated for it. Antibiotics, pain medication & possible lancing the area ( if an abscess has already formed ) usually fix these kitties up pretty quickly. Please have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible & he will be feeling better very soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
