Should I worry about grain-free cat food and my cat's heart?

Is it safe to give my cat grain free food? Is it bad for the heart?

They are starting to see a link of grain free food and heart disease, mainly in golden retrievers. I would recommend gradually switching off until they know exactly what brands is causing it. I cannot say if it will give your cat heart disease but I wouldn't risk it. There is still not enough information but a lot of warnings right now.     Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It could be safe. However, keep in mind that new studies have shown that grain free diets could have negative effects on the heart in dogs. While this has not been proven in cats, it could be the case also in cats. Best of luck!
