Hi, My dog has a bad ear infection, with yeast in it. I want to know how much Amoxocillan to give to him to cure the infection. i currently have 250mg chewable tablets of Amoxocillan. He weighs about 80lbs and for how long should i keep him on it? thank you!

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic and not effective against yeast which is fungal. Contact your vets office to prescribe appropriate medications for him as well as a cleaner to remove as much debris as possible. Sedation may be required if painful

Unfortunately this won't work. The ear has a poor blood supply, so topical medications are needed to treat an ear infection. In addition, antibiotics do not treat yeast or fungal infections. You will need to have Lucky sedated to have his ear examined and treated. If you have the money now, you can combine this exam with the neutering and rabies vaccine.
