My puppy has a mouth wart. Is it contagious? Should I be worried?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 9 months and 15 days old | 50 lbs

My 9 month old hound mix has a wart in his mouth and just need to know if I should be worried and if it could possibly be contagious to other dogs/animals

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rocket. Most warts in or around the mouths of young dogs are due to a papillomavirus. They are usually contagious and should spontaneously resolve. You can always verify this is the case with his veterinarian. I hope this information helps!
