Why are vet visits so EXPENSIVE? I took in Neptune today for his wing and we left with a bill of $100.55! I'll summarize what we did. The vet took a look at his wings. She asked what we were N rocking and we told her a couple odd things about his wings. She said he was imbalanced and had lost too many feather on one wing. So, to even in our, she cut TWO feathers. Two. She didn't prescribe any medication or anything. Is this fair? Please explain why it costed so much!

Thanks for reaching out about Neptune. Different veterinarians have different cost parameters but also different experience with different species. The big questions is, did what the veterinarian do correct the problem. If not, re-contacting the veterinarian and asking questions is understandable. If you are unhappy with the veterinarian and Neptune is still having problems with the wing, seek a different one. Acquiring veterinary insurance for Neptune might help decrease up front, if available in Canada. Good luck.
