What causes a dog's dry, rough nose, lips, and sudden weight loss?

My little girl Akita was a rescue I got her and she had a really rough feeling nose and earmites now she seems to have lost alot of weight and her nose is super dry and rough and so are her lips what is this? Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed

Thanks for reaching out about Akita. Infections of the nose/lips are a possibility. A veterinarian should be seen soon for a diagnosis and treatment. Dental disease, metabolic issues (liver, renal, reproductive), infections or gastrointestinal obstructions are all on the list. Without more information, it is impossible to give you a better answer, but loosing weight is bothersome. Good luck.
