Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 8 months old | 2 lbs
Hi dear, I have a Yorkshire, about 2 pounds and he is almost two years now. He has been restless for the last couple of days, has loose stool and acid reflux. His veterinarian recommended Omeperazole 1 mg daily! For few days. Are there any other issues to consider since this treatment hasn’t helped? Are Yorks suseptable to any microbes or bacterias or viruses at this time of the year that shows symptoms such as these? Sincerely appreciate your help, Reza

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Relic. He is adorable! Yorkies are prone to a condition known as pancreatitis. It is an inflammation of the pancreas that is typically characterized by vomiting and/or diarrhea. It would be worth having him rechecked and possibly tested for this disease if he does not improve. Of course, there can be other causes for his symptoms. Fecal testing may be warranted to rule out a bacterial or parasitic infection. I hope this information helps!
