My dog ate a contact lens case. When should I take her to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Newfoundland | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 5 months old | 40 lbs

Please help! My dog ate my contact lense case with my contacts and contact solution in it. She weighs roughly 100lbs and seems to be ok. She just ate her breakfast and wants to play. Should I take to the vet?

I'm sorry to hear about your contact lenses, the only thing that would worry me is the case itself which may be large enough to cause some problems and even a blockage in the small intestines. you should monitor her for vomiting, constipation, lack of appetite and lethargy. if any of those occur, take her to your vet to have an xray done.
