What's the smallest guinea pig breed in New Zealand? Are they native?

Hi, I was just wondering, since Hamsters are supposedly banned in New Zealand. I've found out that Guinea Pigs are native to NZ and I would like to know what is the smallest breed of Guinea Pigs in NZ thanks

Hello. Guinea pigs are not native to NZ. They come from the Andes region of South America. I believe they are acceptable pets in NZ as they are very popular pets here in the US. All GPs are approximately the same size but come as different varieties such as the long haired Abyssinian or Peruvian, to the short-haired American.
