Why is my Havanese male suddenly peeing and marking inside the house?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 11.7 lbs

Around 3 - 4 days ago, our 14 month male Havanese has been marking multiple corners of the table and sofa in a day - this became frequent. His urine does not have blood and his testicles is not swollen. The balls have brown, flat spots on it. I'm not sure if this is the source of his behaviour. This was sudden. This incident happened once, but it stopped the day after. We use sprays for dog pee, thoroughly clean the area and restrict the areas. He marks corners of objects with no barriers. Help!

I would recommend seeing your veterinarian first to rule out a urinary tract infection or other lower urinary disease like bladder stones. Even though you’re not seeing blood these wouodnbe common causes of sudden inappropriate urination and its important to rule out a medical condition first. If Pog’s urine and other testing is normal you can discuss restarting house training with your vet.
