Why is my cat wobbly, head dropping, and hurting after surgery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

Our cat (5 years old) had a dental surgery (full Anesthesia) three days ago and today we picked him from the hospital. He had hypothermia (35.5 degree celius) and we warmed him up (it is now 37 degree Celius). Afterwards he started drinking water and urinated and pooed but he is walking wobbly and his head falls down when he is sitting or sleeping as you can see in the photo. If we touch him around his stomach, he starts mewing, obviously he is hurting there. We appreciate your medical advice.

Hello. I cannot imagine what anesthesia was used on poor Daaboul that after 4 days he is still having problems. You need to return to your veterinarian to see about what was done to affect your kitty so badly, & they should immediately take steps to return him back to health. I am worried & hope he is feeling better very soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
