My dog is vomiting, trembling, not eating after shots. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shihpoo | Male | neutered | 7 years and 3 months old | 11 lbs

My 7-year old Shi-poo got his vaccinations for Bordatella, Rabies and DHPP late yesterday afternoon and has thrown up everything he’s eaten since. He won’t take water or more food. He’s trembling all over now. Is this normal? Is there something i can give him to make him feel better without another visit to the vet?

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m sorry Theo isn’t feeling well. This is not a normal vaccine reaction and Theo really needs to go to the vet ASAP. If it is not the vet who vaccinated him make sure to let them know he had a reaction so they can note in his chart and report it to the vaccine company. I hope Theo feels better soon.
