My puppy has pale gums. How to treat low hemoglobin and anemia?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 19 days old | 5.3 lbs

as my puppies platelets and hemoglobin are very low, im giving him various natural things along with treatment to raise both, he has suddenly become as active as before but his gums are still very very pale. almost to the point of being white. he is eating good, no vomit or diarrhea. so i guess his platelets are up but not RBC and hemoglobin, are there any specific treatment to raise hemoglobin level and other natural remedies??? heres his blood report tho.

You will not notice any physical changes with a raise in platelets. They simply form clots. Energy will increase with better oxygen-carrying ability, which is accomplished by having more red blood cells. Hemoglobin is in red blood cells, and can be low with anemia or iron deficiency. Making sure that Luffy has a good-quality dog food and a few treats of iron-rich foods (like spinach or red meat) will help by giving the body the building blocks it needs to make more red blood cells.
