My runt piglet is weak, shaking, and can't walk. How can I save it?

Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Female | unspayed | 3 days old | 3 lbs

My piglet is really little. We saw it and brought it in the house. Its week can't walk and it making fast jumping movements. In scared its dying. Please help. Its the runt of a litter what can we do to save it?

Hello. Make sure the little pig is warm & try to get a little formula into its mouth. The piglet may also be pretty hypoglycemic or low blood sugar so you can rub a little Karo syrup on her gums. Do this every hour or so. Do not force anything on the pig if she does not have a good suckle reflex, but once warm & once some of the karo gets into her system, hopefully she will perk back up. But she will probably not do well back with the rest of the litter. She may need to be bottle raised. Good luck & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
