Why is my senior cat shaking her head while eating and drinking?

We have a 15 yr old female short hair that has started to shake her head very hard while eating like there is something stuck in her mouth or teeth. We checked & found nothing. This also happens when she is drinking water. Please advise. Thank you. J & G. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 5.5 lbs
