My puppy is under a year old and has recurring diarrhea. What do I do?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 9 days old | 20 lbs

I am caring for my mom's puppy. He is less than a year and keeps getting diarrhea. My mom said this ha's happened before. I don't know how to care for him. What should I do?

Hi and thanks for using Pet Coach! If Gizmo is acting otherwise normally I would start out with trying a probiotic for 30 days. Also, it is very common for puppies and young adult dogs to have intestinal parasites so if he has not been dewormed you should consider doing that as well. If no improvement after these treatments or if he is acting sick in any way I suggest you get him to a vet for an exam.
