Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I bought a kitten. He wouldn’t eat anything and two days later he started vomiting and had diarrhea.blood tests revealed that he had feline distemper and corona virus enteritis and died later. a month later I bought another kitten.he seemed fine but 2 days later he started vomiting. then blood tests showed decreased lymphocytes and anemia. he had corona virus too and doctors told he won’t survive another day. I’m interested in taking in anothee but worried if he’ll get sick too. Please help me

It would be helpful to know the age of kittens when you got them and how soon they developed symptoms as this would help determine whether they had it before you got them or were exposed afterwards, by other cats or possibly common food bowls, litter trays etc. I would recommend getting an older cat/kitten that has been fully vaccinated at least 3weeks before you take it next time and sterilise or replace all bedding, bowls etc
