My cockatiel returned home and won't talk. Will he talk again?

My male cockatiel talked up a storm. He was taken from me for a few yrs . I just got him bk abt 24 hrs ago n he doesnt talk anymore. Can i get him to talk again n how long will it take?

Most likely, time to adjust to your house and presence again, is needed. Winning confidence and allowing him to feel safe might take time. Take it slow. Good luck.
