Puppy fell on head, yelping, limping. Is it a serious injury?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

When i tried handing my 2 month pomski/poddle/terrier/chiwawa mix puppy to my friend he jumped out of both our hands and fell on his head and leg on the cement. He was yelping pretty hard for a little and ive been comforting him for a little him but all he wants to do is sleep. He wants to walk but he keeps falling to the side and when he does walk he wont use his front right leg so ive been holding him so if he does have an injury he wont hurt himself more. Should I be worried?

yes, any possible head/neck injury is always concerning and non weight bearing lameness combined with the poor balance causing him to fall over are all red flags for a possible serious fracture. Please have him fully assessed buy a vet urgently, it is possible he will require xrays to rule out broken bones
