My rat is very lethargic and his belly is swollen? Could he be having a blockage??

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! A blockage is definitely possible. Other possibilities include other gastrointestinal issues. I recommend you check in with your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They can check for this and treat him accordingly. Best of luck!

    Hello, The abdominal distention is concerning for fluid accumulation (abdominal effusion) or possibly a mass (tumor) in the abdomen. I would advise you to have Lorenzo evaluated by avian/exotic veterinary specialist as soon as possible.
