My dogs ate condoms. What do I do if we're camping and no vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Greyhound | Male | neutered | 60 lbs

I'm not sure which of my dogs did it but I'm guessing it's one stormie my weimeraner. But one, two or all of my dogs at 4-5 condoms out of the wrapping. It's shocking to me. I can't get them to an emergency vet as we are camping and the closest one is 6 hours away. They are all 55-65 lbs should I let it pass or what can I do to get it out of them?!

They may pass through without a problem. I recommend feeding the dogs extra now to help them pass through more quickly with the food. Keep an eye on the stool to see if they pass through. In the next day or two if they start vomiting, can’t defecate, or have abdominal pain then you’ll need to get them to a veterinarian. I don’t expect this to cause an intestinal blockage but please monitor them for any issues. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for your dogs.
