My cat fell and has a swollen, inflamed lip gash. What to do?

Oreo fell sometime on sunday and has a gash on the inside of his right lip, has been swelling since Sunday rapid increase of inflammation looks like the lip might start to chap from the inflammation pushing the lip open not sure what to do to treat the wound besides vary vary light salt water rinse,in the photos shows Oreo at the first of the week(Sunday) and end of the week(Friday). Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 6.6 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This can certainly be due to an infection at the site. There is a significant amount of inflammation as well which could have been from the trauma suffered during the fall. I highly recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to prescribe medications to help with this. Best of luck!
