My chihuahua's hair got thick and sheds a lot. Is this normal?

Hey so this may be a crazy question but I have a teacup chi Wawa I am not sure what she is mixed with. I have had her for about a year now when I first got her her hair was thin, but now as she got older it seems so thick and sheds a lot. I will provide pictures for you is that normal ? I do not take her to the groomer but I do it myself at home, and try to trim it. The hair in the middle is just so long and sheds everywhere. The pictures provided March,June,November. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | 11 months and 5 days old | 8 lbs

Thank you for submitting your question Bbay Girl. I agree that she is a chihuahua mix. The long wire hairs are likely from a terrier. There are DNA test kits available if you are curious. You submit a cheek sample from your dog and they will send you a breed report. I hope this information helps!
