Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | neutered | 6 years and 8 months old | 11 lbs
My dog is 6 years old. He had a dental cleaning about a month ago where they put him under anesthesia and extracted 4 teeth. The past week or so he’s been throwing up around once a day and hes been waking up at night and drinking a lot of water. He has also been licking his genitals, which is red and a little swollen. Took him to the vet and vet said it’s possibly the food he’s eating, but I don’t think that’s what it is. Any ideas?

I would recommend checking a urine sample on Leo. If he is licking and urinating more and drinking more he may have a urinary tract infection. You can gain a lot of information from a urine sample. If you collect one I recommend collecting one right in the morning when he wakes up. This will show us how well he is concentrating his urine. If it is dilute then I would recommend checking his kidney values. Than you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
