My cat is withdrawn and depressed. How can I help her feel better?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

When I first brought Lilly home a number of years ago she came into a home that already had two cats that is when I discovered she doesn't like other cats but she was not aggressive to them and would occasionally play with them. those other two cats passed on but I've added to the family and it seems like Lilly is very withdrawn, depressed and all she does is hide, sleep, eat. I don't know what to do to help her or to change this Behavior. I feel she's dying a slow death.

I would recommend having Lilly see a veterinarian. I would want to make sure it isn't medically related and more related to having the other cats gone. If they don't see anything medically going on I would recommend making sure you are spending extra quality time with her doing things she loves and then discussing medication with your vet.
