Chihuahuas are prone to having luxating patellas which can cause pain when jumping. This can be a genetic problem and if it gets worse then he may need surgery to keep them in place. I recommend limiting the jumping by using pet stairs to the furniture, and keeping him on the thin side to protect his legs from carrying excess weight. As long as he’s not lame and not painful if you prevent him from jumping, then you can wait to have him examined. If he’s in constant pain or has a lameness then please take him in soon for a diagnosis and pain medication.
