I'm not sure if by "hack" you mean cough or vomit. There are several possible reasons for both. Causes of coughing include kennel cough, pneumonia, heart disease, collapsing trachea, and others. Causes of vomiting include eating foreign objects resulting in blockages, pancreatitis, diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease, and much more. In either case, if the coughing or vomiting persists, a veterinarian should take a look at Bear to try and determine the cause. Some causes are more serious than others, and it is impossible to know the cause without at least a physical exam, and possible further diagnostics. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
