Why is my 8-month-old dog throwing up bile daily but still active?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Belgian Malinois | Male | neutered | 8 months and 3 days old | 54 lbs

My dog keeps throwing up bile. Hes 8 months old and eats 2 big bowls of food A-day. He will heave for about 2 minutes and then a tiny amount of green or yellow bile will come out. This happens once A-day and it has been happening for about 5 or 6 days. He did eat geese poop but I don't wanna say this is the culprit yet unless any of you have had similar experiences like this. He hasn't changed at all, he is still very active, wants to go on walks, eats, drinks, plays, and isn't lethargic at all.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vomiting can be observed with gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, food sensitivity, foreign body ingestion and obstruction or other conditions such as pancreatitis or kidney disease. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include abdominal imaging and general bloodwork. Treatment would depend on findings. Good luck and have a great day!
