My zebra finch is balding and always in her nest. Is she sick?

My zebra finch doesnt look well. She has a baldish patch on her head and is constantly sitting in in her nest. We think it may be due to winter but since shes the only one (out of 6 adults and 2 babies) who always in the nest except to eat and drink... we're really worried about her... Pet's info: Bird | Finch | Female | unspayed

Thanks for reaching out about Meemee. This is probably not due to the season or coldness. Molting is usually spring. Concerns would be external parasites (feather mites?), aggression by another finch,or other problems. Monitor appetite. If condition worsens, an avian veterinary visit is needed to diagnose and prescribe a treatment protocol. Good luck.
