Pet's info: Dog | Wire Fox Terrier | Male | neutered | 23 lbs
Hi, my aunt has a 4 y/o neutered male Wire Haired Fox Terrier and they live really far away. Started vomiting in the morning, taken to primary DVM early afternoon; no abnormalities found, sent home on symptomatic therapy. Vomiting continued, then diarrhea started. Now vomitus contained some blood, as does diarrhea; diarrhea smells very bad. My aunt wants to know what she can give the dog to make it more comfortable. Without seeing this dog... what are the ruleouts and what is your advice.

This is very concerning. Your aunt's dog could be suffering from a severe gastro-intestinal infection or condition such as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. This can be life threatening. This dog urgently needs to be seen at a petER tonight, will likely need iv fluids, pain medicine and definitely antibiotics as he is bleeding from his intestine. Please advise your aunt to take Jackie to a petER. I am afraid there is no home remedy.
