Hello my dog has little black dots on her nipples and yellow discharge she's not pregnant or spayed I dont know what o should do how soon should I take her to the vet

The black dots are likely to be blackheads due to fat content in the are. The fact that nipples are producing milk may be due to a false pregnancy which is due to an hormonal imbalance. This problem is usually self limiting but if lasting more than 24 hours a check up would be required as specific medication can be prescribed.

    Those could be blocked pores or pigment from irritation. I recommend to ask your vet about a medicated shampoo and start Bar on an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs to help improve the skin. It will take about 4 weeks to see any results. I hope this helps.

So sorry to hear that Lilly is having this issue. Is this discharge coming from all the nipples or just one? First off, let me say that it is best to not touch the nipples too much and don't try to "milk" the fluid out. If there is not an infection already you will introduce one that way. The two main reasons for nipple discharge in a spayed female are infection and cancer. The other possibility is that she has an ovarian remnant - this means that when she was spayed they accidentally left a small piece of ovary behind. This piece can still produce hormones that can cause this discharge. I strongly suggest you get her to your vet for an examination. Regardless of the underlying cause this is not something you can treat at home. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

The pictures are a bit blurry, but from what I can see, Katy's nipple looks normal. Since she has not been spayed, it is possible that she is experiencing a false pregnancy (or an actual pregnancy if she has mated with a male dog). If you are feeling any lumps associated with her mammary glands, it would be best to have her examined by a vet.

The timing and symptoms could point to a false pregnancy. Have a examined by your veterinarian for confirmation. Treatment is typically not required in mild cases. Symptoms should abate within 2-3 weeks. If they don't or her behavior worsens, your vet can dispense medications to decrease milk production and possibly tranquilizers/sedatives for anxiety. Severe cases can be treated with hormone replacement therapy. To prevent​ future episodes, having her spayed would be the recommended course of action.

Hello. If she recently had her heat (about 1 month ago) then she chould be having psuedopregnancy. This is not a concern unless she develops a mastitis. If the nipples and glands are soft, not hot or cold, and not sore to touch, and if the milk is white and not clear, yellow, green, or has a bad smell, then you can monitor her. If you are noticing any yellow/green/clear discharge from the nipples then you need to get her to a vet ASAP. Prevent this in the future by having her spayed. Good luck with your little girl.

It could be a false pregnancy, true pregnancy, or a pyometra (though fluid from the nipples is less likely with this issue). The only way to know for sure is to have her examined by a vet. As long as her appetite and behavior are normal, I don't think you need to rush her in.

This is an infection of the mammary glands, and it would cause the area to be warm and firm. Mastitis can be fatal without treatment, and this unfortunately cannot be treated with home remedies. She has to see a vet today. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. If your dog is intact, not pregnant, she could be experiencing a flase pregnancy. False pregnancy, or pseudopregnancy, is a term used to denote a common condition in a non-pregnant female dog that is showing symptoms of pregnancy, lactation, or nursing, without producing puppies. The affected female dog shows these symptoms about a month or two after her estrus (heat) is over. A hormonal imbalance is thought to play a central role in affected female dogs. Depending on the severity of problem, the symptoms may last for more than a month. Unless symptoms persist, treatment is typically unnecessary. Otherwise, your veterinarian may recommend hormonal supplementation or spaying to prevent further episodes. Hello. If this is a false pregnancy, there really is nothing much you can do at home. Unless you are going to use her for breeding, spaying will prevent this from happening again, but if you do not want to spay her, this will not cause any loss in fertility if you decide to breed her in the future. If her symptoms are mild, it is best not to do anything at all, as any stimulation of the nipples by applying warm compresses or wrapping them to prevent milk leakage will just stimulate more swelling & milk production. If she is licking herself, you may need to put a cone or E collar on her. If she really seems to be uncomfortable or there is a lot of leakage, sometimes we will treat these dogs with diuretics or even hormones. So, see how she does & see your vet if the situation worsens. Discharge from a nipple can be due to a variety of reasons, including milk production (if not spayed), a bacterial infection, a clogged duct, or another underlying issue. if it is bothering her or you are concerned, I would recommend having her evaluated by her regular veterinarian to determine if there is something that needs to be addressed.
