my dog was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. Should I continue giving her Heartgard?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. The Heartgard will have no effect on the hemangiosarcoma, so if you are in an area with a high incidence of heartworm then you can consider giving it. If the incidence of heartworm in your area is low, then you can consider not giving it. The drug works on body systems that the worms have, and your dog does not, so it is very uncommon to cause any side effects. Best of luck with Ginger!
