My dog's joint supplement isn't working after 4 weeks. What next?

My dog is on a hip and joint supplement and on the it says 4 to 6 weeks give him 2 then you can drop down to 1 in one week it will be 4 weeks and it does not look like it is working can i try a different hip and joint supplement or what do i do and happy holiday's. Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | 2 years old | 27 lbs

Happy holidays to you, too! Joint supplements can be helpful to support the joint and minimize further damage, but they won't make current joint issues go away. I would discuss other medications with your vet. In a young dog with hip pain, I would do x-rays to look for hip dysplasia or other bony changes. Your vet may also have a recommendation for a different supplement for long-term use.
