My dog suddenly couldn't stand; what caused his sudden death?

good evening, my dog has passed away.. on the 3rd of august.. he suddenly couldn't stand up he did recognize us but wasn't able to stand up.. we went to the vet to get him an operation which didn't work but nobody knows what the illness was they thought they ate something wrong, we live in spain.. hope to hear something soon thank you.

These are very general signs that could have happened due to many different conditions such as ones affecting the heart or it could have possibly been due to internal bleeding.
