I received a message from you after I gave a raw chicken bone to mick. I'm wondering if the bone causes the trouble mentioned how could it be fixed? You wrote;Answered by MEGAN, DVMVeterinarian I would not feed these types of bones as it can splinter and puncture the intestines or it can cause an upset tummy I am wondering about the possibility I need to pursue if it did puncture his intestines. Please be detailed.

I am sorry to hear that your pet may have an intestinal puncture. If he did he would be having profuse vomiting, lack of appetite and few feces. The only way to fix an intestinal rupture is through surgery. The vet will confirm this via x-ray and physical exam findings and then in surgery the hole would be found and then sutured closed. I hope this helps you get a full picture of what something like this would entail. It is not an easy fix, so it’s best to avoid situations like these at all cost. I do hope that your pet Mick doesn’t have a ruptured intestine and that he will be ol. Best of luck and take care!
