Why isn't my parakeet drinking and what's the ideal temperature?

Pet's info: Bird | Parakeet | Male | 0.081 lbs

I never seem to see the little fella drink and his water doesnt go down all that much either, do budgies not drink much? Have only had him for about 3 day, and they are so quiet. By the way what's the temperature require for he parakeet.

Thanks for reaching out about Blue. Parakeets usually don't drink much and are efficient at absorbing water content from food. Monitor urine, if urinating regularly, you can assume hydration is adequate. Offering and training him to eat vegetables is important also for vitamins and other nutritions. Seed is not a complete diet for birds. Being small birds and having a high metabolism, there are susceptible to cold environments. Keeping parakeets warm, no lower than seventy degrees is recommended. Good luck.
