My new cat purrs a lot but also coughs. Is it breathing trouble?

I brought an orange Tabby home 3 days ago. He's 3 years old and at first I thought he was always purring because hes really affectionate, but twice now, first day for a few seconds and just now for a few seconds he went into a coughing fit. Are these linked? Is he purring or having trouble breathing? Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 11 lbs

This could simply be a reverse sneezing episode that you are seeing with Jin.
