Is my cat's gentle hand nibbling a love bite or bad behavior?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat started gently nibbling on my hands while I’m stroking him, he doesn’t bite - it doesn’t hurt, if I leave my hand in it’s mouth he won’t apply any pressure, is that what’s considered a love bite, or is it some undesirable behavior? Thank you!

Probably a love bite, but I would not encourage Gray to do that, since they could become harder. Maybe when he does this, stop petting him and see if he moves away or is happier to just sit with you.
