My 4-month-old kitten has diarrhea but acts normal. Should I worry?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 19 days old | 3.3 lbs

Hi my almost 4 month old kitten has had two episodes of diarrhea that I’ve seen possibly another in the past 36 hours. He is eating playing and acting normal otherwise. He did have an URI for the first 3 ish weeks I had him; today has been his best day congestion and sneezing wise. Should I be concerned? His food hasn’t changed, he is indoors and I doubt he’s gotten into anything. I was giving him lysine up until 2 days ago. Could that be why he has diarrhea?

I don't think the diarrhea has anything to do with the upper respiratory infection. I would recommend that you call the vet. They may want to test for intestinal parasites or may be concerned about a different bacteria or virus causing the diarrhea. I wouldn't change any food right now, since a sudden change may make the diarrhea worse. If he develops vomiting, decreased appetite, or lethargy, I would definitely have him checked out by the vet.
