Dog's front teeth fell out in a fight. What immediate care is needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 20 lbs

2 of my dogs teeth fell out during a fight. She's had parvovirus before so one of them looked decayed and like it was about to fall out but the other clearly wasn't. They are some of her very front teeth on her top jaw. Is there anything I should do? Soft foods from now until when? The bleeding has stopped but am still worried.

If they fell out completely and they are not broken (you can check if there is any remnant there) a check up generally speaking would not be needed. Soft food would be a good idea even though if you tell us exactly which teeth were injured we can give you more specific advices. Phoebe must be in pain so a check up would be ideal to have some pain meds prescribed. If there is any piece of tooth still in there, then a check up for extraction is required.
