Dog has a bite wound that closed up. Could it be a scorpion bite?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Spitz | Female | spayed | 15 years and 6 months old | 18 lbs

This bite did have a black cover on it that disintegrated and left a hole with a piece of skin on the inside that had jagged edges on it. That was several days ago. Now it has closed up (pictures attached). Please tell me what it is. I have seen a scorpion in my apt

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is possibly an infection site though it is hard to really see well based on a picture. An examination would be really helpful in determining what is the most likely cause. Since it has already started improving, I would recommend you continue monitoring this. If you notice any discharge, bleeding or pain from it, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Best of luck!
